Lean Construction Institute Announces 17th Annual LCI Congress, October 12-16, 2015

ID: 402151

(firmenpresse) - ARLINGTON, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/22/15 -- Lean Construction Institute will host the Lean design/construction community October 12-16 at its annual LCI Congress in Boston, MA. There, hundreds of Lean organizations will come together to further their mission to eliminate waste through project lifecycles, and increase industry demand and capacity for Lean and Integrated approaches.

"This year's Congress promises to be our biggest and best ever, with many more training and education offerings than ever before, plus a wealth of general sessions and breakouts that will afford our attendees a host of choices in programming. There will be literally something for everyone," said Dan Heinemeier, executive director. "Lean Design and Construction represents enhanced opportunities for collaboration on project work, with transformative results in terms of better meeting owners' expectations and reducing waste, which is the antithesis of value creation. Networking with peers and sharing stories about successes and challenges has always been the hallmark of Congress week, and this year will be no exception."

The Congress program targets owners, designers, general contractors and trade partners. "We are seeing more and more owners who are seeking to take Lean from basic learning of what it's all about to actually specifically applying it on projects. Owners who come to Boston will gain tremendous insight on what Lean offers and how to get started using it in the field," said Heinemeier. "Designers who attend will learn the benefits others are gaining by enhanced collaboration with project partners at the earliest stages of the project. They'll hear from counterparts who have used Lean to transform their practices as well as the way they deliver value to their clients. General contractors and trade partners will learn from those with deep experience implementing Lean in the field; both how to get started and what to look out for to promote success at various stages of implementation," he said.

Attendees will hear from the thinkers and doers that are driving the next generation of Lean processes in their projects and organizations, including:

Paul O'Neill, Former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and worker safety advocate

Steven Spear, Author, "The High Velocity Edge"

John Shook, Chairman and CEO, Lean Enterprise Institute
