Allgeier strengthens its presence in the healthcare market

Munich, 2 August 2011 - Munich-based Allgeier Holding AG (ISIN:
DE0005086300; WKN 508630) today signed an agreement with the shareholders
of IT solution provider GEMED Gesellschaft für medizinisches
Datenmanagement mbH, with its headquarters in Ulm, Germany, to acquire all
the shares in the company. The transfer of shares (closing) is dependent on
compliance with the usual contractual terms and is expected to be completed
within the next few days.
Leading IT solution provider for the healthcare market
Through this acquisition of GEMED, Allgeier Group is further strengthening
their service portfolio and opening up new prospects. GEMED, which was
established in 1995, develops, produces and implements modular 'Picture
Archiving and Communication Systems' (PACS) which are used in hospitals,
radiology units and orthopaedic centres. With over 500 systems installed in
Germany and Switzerland, GEMED is a leading speciality supplier.
By joining Allgeier Group, GEMED is gaining access to Allgeier's large
customer base, and will therefore be able to substantially extend their
range of services. The current owners of GEMED will serve as managing
directors in the future.
Extension of the healthcare business
Allgeier already serves some 100 hospitals and medical care centres in
Germany, Austria and Switzerland with IT infrastructure service and IT
security products. Allgeier's document management software Scanview(R) is
used in more than 40 clinics in Germany. With a customer base of some 200
clinics, it is the market leading solution in Belgium and the Netherlands.
What is more, Allgeier's 'Medical Viewer' is an innovative concept for
electronic patient records.
Combined with GEMED's knowledge and solutions, Allgeier will round off the
portfolio they offer to the healthcare market, putting them in a position
to act as a full service provider for clinics.
