E-mobility research - comm.fleet pilot projects help to increase the everyday suitability of electric mobility
Already since 2011 community4you AG has been supporting with its fleet management software a future-oriented, climate-friendly mobility in German municipalities and companies.
(firmenpresse) - Whereas in Germany numerous e-mobility pilot projects are still in their fledgling stages, community4you AG can proudly look back at many successfully completed e-mobility projects, implemented on the basis of the intelligent fleet management software comm.fleet in cooperation with RWE.
The research project „metropol-E“ implemented at the city of Dortmund in the years from 2011 until 2013 and funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development aimed to increase the practical suitability of electro mobility in metropolitan regions. For this purpose the necessary infrastructure has been built up step by step and an economically viable application concept has been developed and put to the test.
The project has also been successfully introduced in the private sector: Building up on the positive experience of the “metropol-E” project, RWE is operating internally the car sharing project “e-Merge”, which is based as well on comm.fleet.
A key component of „metropol-E“ and „e-Merge“ is the implementation of the “booking and reservation system” for dynamic vehicle availability check, vehicle reservation and management of vehicle master data.
In both projects RWE is relying on the smart functionalities of the fleet management software comm.fleet. In particular the unique features of comm.fleet - its flexible adaptability - enable the intelligent management of e-mobility fleets and their complex electro mobility requirements such as the management of vehicle master data and costs, the backend integration with the RWE charging station management system for the automated exchange of up-to-date location information and of the charge state of the vehicles, the intelligent vehicle disposition on the basis of the obtained data - also with web and mobile apps – as well as the evaluation of costs, service life, charge duration and range coverage data.
The reservation and booking of the electric vehicles are performed directly by the users with the help of user-friendly mobile and web apps transparently integrated with the comm.fleet backend. Our state-of-the-art software leads the users step by step through their tasks. The full-fledged booking process supports the managing staff (e.g. dispatchers and reception desk) at vehicle hand-over and return and guarantees the traceability of all performed trips.
