Label printing, automated labeling, laser marking: 40 years of cab technologies
Eight subsidiaries worldwide, amongst others in France and in the USA. More than 320 employees. Further 820 distribution partners in more than 80 countries: cab is steadily growing. Now the Southern German manufacturer of systems for product and package marking celebrates its 40 anniversary.

Alexander Bardutzky, cab 2nd Generation Managing Director, states: “It is honesty that creates confidence. Confidence is the keystone for a collaborative partnership. Early garage days
The history of cab literally started in a garage in 1975: Alexander Bardutzky‘s father, Klaus Bardutzky, developed and produced electromechanical products on sales order. In addition, the first matrix printers were engineered. In the late 1980s the distribution of label printing systems was added to the cab portfolio.
Since 1995 the development, manufacture and distribution of product marking systems is cab’s core business. Components as well as laboratory, testing and production tools are still offered actively.
Feeling comfortable in every line of business
Whether it is automotive industry, electronics, logistics, chemistry, pharmacy, textile, food, trading or services – cab feels comfortable in all lines of businesses. There are more than 250,000 cab devices and systems in continuous operation all around the world. For example at Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW, at Siemens, Bosch, VARTA batteries, Continental or the Deutsche Post. Noteworthy: More than 80 percent of the customers steadily rely on cab solutions. Some of them for 20 years!
Made in Germany says it all
To strengthen its technological leading position cab places emphasis on a maximum vertical range of manufacture. 98 percent of all mechanical components used in the devices and systems are manufactured in house. “Our aim is to shape the market significantly through product innovation”, says Alexander Bardutzky. “Substantial equipment is fundamental for us in order to manufacture even complex marking systems that set demanding requirements on production processes”. Success proves cab right: In the fiscal year 2014 a total turnover of about 70 million euros was generated.
