Investigation into the International Abduction of Two Young Boys Leads to Arrest

ID: 413788

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/14/15 -- The Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC) is happy to report that an international search taking five years for two abducted children has come to an end in Hamilton, Ontario.

Since 2010, the Missing Children Society of Canada has been working with the Greater Manchester Police in England, the Toronto Police Service and other law enforcement agencies all of whom have been investigating the disappearance of two brothers who were ages 4 and 6 at the time of their disappearance, from Manchester, England. They were last seen in April of 2010 traveling in Europe with their mother, Anisa Ibrahim.

Since that time, the law enforcement agencies have been working tenaciously on this case with support from the Missing Children Society of Canada. After new information came to light this week on the potential whereabouts of the boys, the Toronto Police Fugitive Squad immediately took action. Thursday morning, August 13, 2015 the boys were recovered safely and their mother Anisa Ibrahim was taken in to custody.

"We are so pleased to have provided additional support to law enforcement in this investigation," says Amanda Pick, CEO of Missing Children Society of Canada. "Their father now has the answers about his children's whereabouts and safety which he so desperately needed."

Since 1986, the Missing Children Society of Canada has been reuniting missing children with their searching families through professional investigations, public awareness, emergency response support and family support programs.
