My first day in Spanish language school

(firmenpresse) - Before coming to Valencia I had been a bit worried about what´s going to happen. I had checked the school´s website for more information and had seen a couple of really good videos from activities that are held by the language school. After that I decided to enroll in this school and booked my flight. When I came to the language school, I was warmly welcomed by the front desk stuff. If you have any questions regarding Valencia, your flat (you can stay in a flat that is offered by the school or in a host family) etc. they are always there to support you and provide the right advice.
Before the actual language course started, I had to take a written placement test with Adela, the Head of studies at Costa de Valencia, and then oral placement test with Javi. This test is made to ensure that you will land in a course that is right for you. Then I was told that my course is going to start in the afternoon. They offered me to visit the city center to get to know the city a bit and learn something about its history. One Spanish teacher was our guide so we could practice our Spanish, I managed to meet other students and we have become good friends. As I have noticed later, there are more activities you may participate in such as trips to nearby villages, volleyball on the beach, drink “horchata”, eat tapas, run “with the bulls” and so on. You´ll have the possibility to get the most out of your stay in Valencia.
The course I had in the afternoon was great. There were three other students with the same level of knowledge in my class and the professor was very good as well. We had two different teachers during the week that made the class even more interesting because both of them had slightly different teaching practices.
Afterwards we went to the beach with other classmates and enjoyed the sun. The day was full of new experiences and faces. When the sun went down numerous students and teachers from the school gathered and we went together to Welcome Paella Party. I´ve already heard about paella before, but I did not expect it to be that delicious. Add to this an Spanish atmosphere and una cerveza or vino and you have the perfect mix for a great evening.
