InterMed Announces Large-Scale Expansion and Remodeling Plan in Yarmouth
10,000 Square-Foot Addition to Yarmouth Village Health Care Center Will Accommodate Growing Patient Base and Access to Specialist Care
(firmenpresse) - PORTLAND, ME -- (Marketwire) -- 08/03/11 -- InterMed, a premier healthcare provider in Southern Maine, today announced extensive renovation and expansion plans at its Yarmouth Health Center located at 259 Main Street in Yarmouth Village. The facility is scheduled to open for patients in spring 2012.
In addition to remodeling and expanding its current space, InterMed will add 10,000 square feet of administrative offices and examination rooms. The added space and build-out of the two-story Yarmouth Village facility will house InterMed's newly hired OB/GYN, and accommodate its existing family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics practices along with added space for a greater breadth of specialty physicians. The new OB/GYN will begin accepting patients once the overall project is complete.

InterMed established its presence in Yarmouth Village in 1986 with a 14,750 square-foot facility. Currently, nine physicians work out of the location, which provides patients with services including family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine and physical therapy. InterMed's extended hours program will continue Monday through Thursday until 7 p.m.
