(firmenpresse) - Düsseldorf. Musgrave Group is the wholesale partner to entrepreneurial retailers in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Great Britain and Spain. Collectively the group partners over 3,300 stores through trading divisions across four territories. The Group is a family owned business established in Cork in 1876. Today it is a multinational business and one of Ireland’s most successful companies and the country’s biggest private sector employer.
Musgrave NI is part of the Musgrave Group and is the partner to over 300 independent food retailers through its Retail and Symbol brands and numerous food service professionals through its wholesale brand. Musgrave NI currently has three main categories of partnership supporting five brands:
•Retail – SuperValu and Centra
•Symbol – Mace, DayToday
•Wholesale – MarketPlace
The DENSO BHT-1100 scanner has only recently been adopted in Musgrave NI brand stores, SuperValu and Centra, but has already been proved very effective. “There are currently about 120 DENSO devices in use in 30 of our stores. This number will increase to 350 devices in the near future as the devices are rolled out to 120 SuperValu and Centra stores,” said Graham Service, Retail IT Manager at Musgrave NI. Further information on DENSO offers, the QR code, mobile data collection, and scanners is available here: www.denso-autoid-eu.com.
The DENSO handheld terminals serve multiple functions in the different Centra and SuperValu stores and are highly reliable: from ordering refrigerated and unrefrigerated food, discounting products, waste collection, through price verification and inter-branch transfers up to inventory, labelling and price changes – up until now no significant failure has been detected. “We are very satisfied with the DENSO handheld terminals, our expectations have been more than fulfilled,” says Graham Service.
To be highly accurate, the codes must scan immediately. Weak or inaccurate scanning is not only annoying and frustrating, but moreover highly time-consuming. For this reason, DENSO has developed the very precise mobile data collection software which is used in the devices. Additionally, the angled scanning head makes the scanning process of products on high or low shelves easier than ever before. “Our experience with the DENSO scanners has been outstanding. No matter whether we use them in the sales area, the store rooms or within our frozen products, the scanning performance is the best we have experienced. Furthermore, since the introduction of the DENSO handheld terminals, the time taken to price-check a store has been halved,” said Graham Service.
The DENSO BHT-1100 is extremely robust. The inevitable daily knocks and drops are not a problem for the device. Also, the DENSO BHT-1100 survives being frequently left behind in the freezer and chilled areas with no discernable effect on performance. The slim body of the handheld terminal even employees with small hands to operate the device comfortably. One-handed usage of the device is also easily possible. In addition, the large and bright screen of the DENSO BHT-1100 enables users to read the information without causing eye-strain. Due to large buttons, handling the DENSO BHT-1100 with gloves in the freezer area is uncomplicated and straightforward. The device’s long battery life is proving to be more than adequate to last for the entire operating shift, with devices being in use on the shop floor throughout the whole day.
