Nextrials Adds Key Visualization and Sync Features to Its E2E(TM) Electronic Health Record Integration Tool
Enhancements Help Researchers Save Time and Maintain Data Quality in Clinical Research Studies

Designed to mesh EHRs with Nextrials' award-winning electronic data capture (EDC) platform Prism®, the E2E tool now offers clear visual cues to indicate the data origination point (EHR or EDC) and generates graphical indicators when data is out of sync between the two repositories. This functionality enables researchers to save time and maintain data quality throughout a study.
"E2E's new, tightly integrated features improve the user experience and eliminate separate log-ins," said Nextrials CEO . "Now, researchers can easily view all study data in the EHR system, quickly determine the source of the data and identify any data mismatches. This results in a more streamlined data collection process and better data quality."
The first of E2E's new features is designed to improve efficiency by providing users with an alert when the two data repositories are out of sync. This typically happens when a healthcare site changes its data after it has already been migrated into a clinical database. By clicking on the yellow delta icon alert, users can now see the new value next to the original data point in the electronic case report form (eCRF). The researcher can then select to update the data or keep its original value. Any changes are captured in Prism's audit trail.
E2E's second feature is designed to improve the user experience by providing new multi-colored visual cues to easily distinguish data entered manually into the clinical database from the data originating in the EHR. In addition, each row of EHR data is further identified with a caduceus symbol to assist users that may be colorblind and unable to see the gradations of the new color-coding. currently affects approximately 1 in 12 men (8%) and 1 in 200 women worldwide.
