8x8 Inc. recently announced that revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2012 grew to a record $18.5 million, a 10% increase over revenue of $16.8 million for the same period of fiscal 2011. Gross margin for the first quarter of fiscal 2012 was 67%, compared with 68% in the same period of fiscal 2011.
Earlier this year Level 3 Communications said that it is buying Global Crossing Ltd for $3 billion. The purchase of Global Crossing brings Level 3 several new businesses, including cloud computing services, which deliver software, data storage and other services over the Internet.
