CUJO Addresses Gaps in Home Internet Security With New Behavior Recognition Technology, Seeks $30,000 in Crowdfunding for Mass Production

(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/15/15 -- Today CUJO (), the Internet security solution that guards all connected home devices from the latest and most sophisticated virtual intrusions such as malware, viruses and hacking techniques, announces its crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo () with a goal of raising $30,000 for mass production. As a plug-and-play device, CUJO uses self-learning technology to keep watch over Wi-Fi-connected devices in a home network by constantly improving itself to block new threats.

With an additional goal to pre-sell 1000 units, the CUJO home Internet security device is available for a special Indiegogo price of only $49. Backers will also get up to 12 months of free service when purchasing through the campaign. The device will require a monthly monitoring fee of just $8.99 per month, or an annual fee of $89, for those purchasing CUJO after the campaign.

Many consumers are unaware of the security vulnerabilities with their Wi-Fi-connected devices such as computers, smart phones, baby monitors, gaming systems, tablets and TV's. With smart homes containing dozens of connected devices, the "Internet of Things" has opened up a world of new electronic vulnerabilities that routers and traditional antivirus software leave unguarded. For instance, if a malicious hacker gains access to a home network via a baby monitor, not only can they see inside the home physically, but they can also obtain access to all personal information stored on other devices connected to the home network.

"When my personal accounts were hacked, I started looking for ways to protect our home and kids against stalkers, impersonators and cyber criminals in general," said Einaras Gravrock, founder and CEO of CUJO. "Unfortunately the solutions I found were either built for enterprises and thus very expensive, or they were only focused on protecting our PC's. I wanted a solution that was simple to use, affordable for any home and sophisticated enough to guard all of my home devices. That's how CUJO was born."

Traditional antivirus software only protects PC's and blocks cyber attacks once they have reached or infected that PC, and routers rely on a limited database of known threats, leaving both options ineffective and outdated for use by the modern connected household. CUJO offers a solution that uses new behavior recognition technology to stay updated in real time. The CUJO device learns the patterns of how a user's devices are connected and talk to each other. It can then recognize potential security threats by identifying and blocking atypical interactions among devices.

"One key thing that differentiates our technology is our behavioral analysis in the cloud," said Robert Beatty, vice president of technology for CUJO. "This technology detects anomalies by studying the network traffic and looks at deviations. With this, CUJO has the ability to adapt to new threats instantaneously without any need to update the device."

Backed by a team of engineers and researchers with extensive security and software experience, CUJO is the first of its kind to grant consumers the ability to protect all devices in their households against malware, hackers, viruses and phishing scams, affording them the peace of mind and freedom to enjoy technology in the comfort and security of their homes.
