Ellen Desmarais Joins 500px to Head Marketing
Former Vice President & General Manager of iStock by Getty Images Joins as Company Ramps Up Growth

Ellen comes to 500px from Getty Images where she was vice president & general manager of iStock.
In this new role, Desmarais will lean on her years of industry experience in the stock photography and media industries to influence and design the marketing strategy for 500px as well as lead specific initiatives for the company's community and licensing business. Her appointment comes on the heels of the company's recent announcement that it has closed $13 million in Series B funding.

Desmarais comes to 500px with 20 years of experience in marketing, strategy and digital operations, recently holding senior positions at Getty Images and Dow Jones & Company. Prior to heading iStock, she was vice president of marketing strategy for Getty Images where she led the CRM and product marketing teams. Before joining Getty Images, she was executive director of corporate strategy and business development for Dow Jones & Company where she led strategic plans for international expansion and digital investments and steered development in expanding the Wall Street Journal franchise globally.
