Shoetopia: New Shoe-Outlet opens in Metzingen
New outlet center extends selection of premium footwear brands at shopping mecca Metzingen / grand opening on September 24

The new outlet center offers shoes of premium brands like ecco, Buffalo, Van Lier, ara, Salamander, Lurchi, G.K. Mayer Shoes, G&I Collection, Kunert und Marc Shoes. Visitors benefit of guaranteed discounts of at least 30 percent on a wide range of high-quality footwear for women, men and children. The renowned Outletcity Metzingen, one of the biggest factory sale locations near Stuttgart, Germany, is thus extended by its first all Shoe-Outlet center.
The grand opening promises to be a glamorous event: with V.I.P. guest and South African dance sensation Motsi Mabuse, many goodies and amenities like drinks, food trucks, gift bags, and extra discounts on shoes. “We hope for our visitors to have a grand day full of shopping and entertainment”, says Norbert Angerer, manager of the Shoe-Outlet. At 10 A.M. on September 24, Angerer will open the new store together with the center’s V.I.P guest Motsi Mabuse. The Latin standard dancer and "Let’s Dance" jury member, the German version of "Strictly Come Dancing", will also draw the winner of the big tombola, where shoe vouchers of up to 500 Euro await the lucky participants.
Under the slogan “High in Heels”, the outlet center also invites all men to attend the opening in high heels and thus get an extra 50 percent discount on their purchase. Moreover, they get the chance to win a 300 Euro shoe voucher by competing with their “High in Heels” photo on Facebook.
The opening of the new Shoe-Outlet center adds more than 2,000 square meters of retail space to Metzingen’s shopping landscape. The town has long been synonymous for the idea of factory outlets throughout Germany, hosting international premium brands such as Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Burberry or Calvin Klein. Metzingen is located in the metropolitan area of Stuttgart. Up to 10 million people live within 90 minutes reach of the town. Approximately 4.5 million shoppers, one third of them tourists from France, Russia, and China, visit every year – either by train, car, or via direct shuttles from Stuttgart, Munich or Zurich.
