Crankshaft and camshaft sensors for the future
The proportion of electronic components in vehicles is fast increasing as a result of numerous control components being used. They now account for over 40 percent of many vehicles and are even estimated to increase to 60 percent in the future. The crankshaft sensor and the camshaft position sensor are important sensors for engine management. They both supply important measurement values to the engine control unit regarding the current position of the crankshaft and to the positioning of the inlet and outlet valves regarding the camshaft position. Based on this information, the engine control unit works out the ideal time for fuel injection and ignition as well as the optimum level of filling and combustion in the cylinders. OPTIMAL is extending its product range to include new pulse generators and new camshaft position sensors.
OPTIMAL - crankshaft sensor (firmenpresse) - OPTIMAL, Langenbach. OPTIMAL AG & Co. KG has introduced 83 new crankshaft sensor and 42 new camshaft position/fuel metering sensors to its product range. These enable control units to access the updates they need. In terms of their quality, the crankshaft and camshaft sensors are characterised by a high temperature resistance of up to 150° Celsius. The primary plug connections are very carefully executed and have double protection against moisture, i.e. the cables are soldered directly onto the plug and sealed as well. It should also be noted that the crankshaft and camshaft sensors are not manufactured from recycled material, but from PA66G with a maximum of 20 to 30 percent glass fibre. The chips for the integrated circuits (IC) are from Infineon, Philips or Melexis.
