Crawford & Company® Australia Launches e-learning Tool to Promote Financial
Risks Expertise
New Educational Tools Available for Insurers and Brokers
SYDNEY (Oct. 12, 2015) - Crawford & Company® Australia is aiming to improve
insurers and brokers' knowledge of financial risks claims with a new dedicated
training website and toolkit, including a reserve calculator.
Developed by Crawford® Forensic Accounting Services (CFAS), the new tools are
intended for industry professionals who are looking to develop their knowledge
of business interruption, and other financial risk topics and are available for
individual and corporate use.
Martin Miller, national Crawford Forensic Accounting Services manager, said: "We
are committed to develop the knowledge base of those who are interested in
financial risks claims and are aware that thus far, many brokers and insurers
have struggled to enhance their knowledge of this specialised skill.
"Providing correct reserve calculations can be critical, but without proper
training and experience, it is all too easy to fail to identify major claims at
an early stage and make errors when calculating losses. We have developed e-
learning tools and created the reserve calculator to support rising stars of the
industry as well as help long-term workers in need of a refresher," he said.
The available modules include those relating to business interruption's general
principles, such as basic concepts and terminology, determining cost-of-working
increases, and savings. Each course is approximately an hour in duration and
includes a competency test at the end. All courses are also eligible for
continuing professional development points.
CFAS' ability to offer e-learning is a reflection of its current growth, as the
team continues to add new members with deep experience. Crawford recently
appointed Scott Bushell as CFAS regional manager, New South Wales & South
Australia. He brings 20 years' experience specialising in business interruption
claims and litigation support.
The new training site can be accessed at:

elements of the CFAS toolkit, including reserve calculator and document request
list, by applying to be a member via: https://www.cfas.com.au/.
