First Resort Responds to Introduction of San Francisco Anti-Pregnancy Center Ordinance
(firmenpresse) - SAN LEANDRO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/05/11 -- Following is First Resort's media statement in response to an anti-pregnancy center ordinance introduced Tuesday by San Francisco Supervisor Malia Cohen and City Attorney Dennis Herrera. In the weeks and months to come, First Resort will be standing in firm opposition to the passage of this ordinance.
First Resort is a non-profit pregnancy counseling and state licensed women's health clinic providing free medical services for over 19 years. Our trained professionals and medical specialists are committed to helping women make healthy, well-informed choices consistent with their own values and beliefs.
First Resort provides all clients with full disclosure on the types of services we provide.
First Resort rejects in the strongest possible terms any representation that our advertising misleads women. We treat women with dignity and respect their right to choose. We welcome both Supervisor Cohen and City Attorney Herrera to tour our facilities and educate themselves about the services we provide. We are confident that our clinic is a model and complies with all pertinent local, state and federal laws.
We look forward to a robust discussion about the appropriateness of this legislation and urge the San Francisco Board of Supervisors not to test the constitutional boundaries of free speech.
