TicketNetwork Files Lawsuit to Protect Its Software Copyrights

(firmenpresse) - SOUTH WINDSOR, CT -- (Marketwired) -- 10/20/15 -- TicketNetwork filed a lawsuit on Thursday, October 15, 2015 against Totally Tickets and Michael Fletcher (dba 24/7 Broker) of Norman, Oklahoma, City Ticket of Warwick, Rhode Island, and other unnamed defendants for alleged copyright infringement and violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and the Connecticut Unfair Sales and Trade Practices Acts. The lawsuit alleges that 24/7 Broker created and distributed a product to licensees of the TicketNetwork Point-of-Sale (POS) that was intended to circumvent the POS software's security enhancements.

Ensuring the security of all access points throughout the TicketNetwork POS is of "paramount importance to TicketNetwork," the lawsuit states. According to the complaint filed, these actions violate the copyrights of TicketNetwork and Ticket Software, the entities that own and develop the POS software, constitute computer fraud, and interfere with TicketNetwork's business relationships.

"TicketNetwork invests a significant amount of time, effort and energy into developing state-of-the-art ticket inventory management software known as the POS. The POS software is the foundation of our enterprise, and the security enhancements we added to the software are intended to protect all of the ticket sellers who license the product. We value these customers' security, and any product, script or device that threatens this incredibly valuable intellectual property must be stopped at all costs," said CEO of TicketNetwork, Donald Vaccaro.

The lawsuit seeks a permanent injunction against further infringement as well as monetary damages sustained by TicketNetwork.
