Zurich, 20 September 2010 --- It is with deepest regret that the Board of
Directors must announce the unexpected passing away of its Board member Rolf P.
Jetzer at the age of 59. He died of heart failure late last Sunday on a private
hiking trip in the Swiss Alps.
Rolf P. Jetzer was member of the Group's Board of Directors since 2005. As an
attorney and expert business lawyer he contributed significantly to the
transformation and subsequent expansion of the Julius Baer Group. The Board is
very grateful for all he did for Julius Baer.
The Julius Baer Group wishes to extend its sincerest condolences to Rolf P.
Jetzer's family. As a member of the Group's Board, as a colleague and friend,
the Julius Baer Group and its employees will hold his memory in the highest
esteem.
