BorgWarner showcases large portfolio of technologies for agricultural applications at Agritechnica 2015

(firmenpresse) - Auburn Hills, Michigan, November 9, 2015 – BorgWarner presents its extensive range of technologies for agricultural applications in Hall 17, Booth D34, at this year’s Agritechnica in Hanover, Germany, from November 8 to 14. At the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery and equipment, BorgWarner displays innovative solutions such as the award-winning regulated two-stage (R2S®) turbocharging technology, state-of-the-art variable turbine geometry (VTG) turbochargers, and high-efficiency turbochargers. In addition, BorgWarner presents advanced diesel cold-start technologies and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) modules, as well as precise air flow solutions such as Visctronic® fan drives, compact variable cooling pumps and dual mode coolant pumps. For customers looking for cost-effective maintenance, BorgWarner’s Exchange program of remanufactured turbochargers is available for a broad range of passenger cars, trucks, buses, construction equipment and agricultural applications.
“We are very pleased to demonstrate our expertise in fuel-efficient products for off-highway applications and present our large portfolio of key technologies for agricultural vehicles at this year’s Agritechnica,” said James R. Verrier, President and Chief Executive Officer, BorgWarner. “Our solutions offer high performance and proven durability for agricultural and off-highway engines even under harsh operating conditions.”
Combining two series-connected turbochargers of different sizes, BorgWarner’s R2S turbocharging system helps improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. Providing maximum exhaust gas recirculation rates even under full-load conditions while significantly reducing emissions, the R2S turbocharging technology meets the demands of modern engine concepts.
State-of-the-art EGR systems are one of the most effective methods for reducing nitrogen oxide (NOX) particles to meet increasingly stringent emissions standards. BorgWarner’s EGR modules integrate an EGR cooler, an EGR valve and a bypass valve into one compact package to reduce emissions by recirculating and cooling exhaust gases and provide improved reliability and efficiency.
BorgWarner’s electronically actuated Visctronic fan drives only operate when needed to improve fuel economy up to 1.4 percent compared with conventional fan drives and up to 4 percent compared with fixed fans, depending on the duty cycle. In addition, they respond directly to engine cooling needs, resulting in more available horsepower, improved fuel economy and lower emissions. Enhanced driver comfort with low noise, vibration and harshness as well as a maintenance-free design are additional advantages.
