ID: 433697

On 9 November, 2015, a Chinese delegation led by Vice-Minister of Transport Wang Changshun paid a visit to the DHL Innovation Center in Troisdorf and the DHL freight terminal in the port of Duisburg

(PresseBox) - The occasion for the visit was the 4th Sino-German Conference on the Implementation of the Green Logistics Action Plan, held on 10 November, 2015 in Berlin. The aim of the conference series is to strengthen the exchange of information between German and Chinese authorities and logistics representatives in developing sustainable logistics solutions.
The excursions held on the day prior to the conference were the kick-off to the Vice- Minister?s visit to Germany, the result of an invitation from Logistics Alliance Germany. The Alliance, or LAG, is a public-private partnership between the Federal Ministry of Transportation and Digital Infrastructure and the German logistics industry, with the aim of promoting German logistics providers and Germany as a key logistics location. DHL and Duisport are members of the Association for the Development of the Logistics Alliance Germany (Förderverein LAG), which represents the interests of the German logistics industry within the public-private partnership of the Alliance. Mathias Krage, chairman of the Association, commended the two companies for arranging for the visit with only short notice. The Chinese delegation showed particular interest in seeing the terminals where freight to and from China is processed.
?Germany has much to offer in the area of logistics. For this reason, it is important to show our German logistics solutions to overseas delegations here where they take place. I am greatly pleased at the visit from this Chinese delegation, which underscores our intensive cooperation in the area of logistics,? said Dorothee Bär, Parliamentary Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Transportation and Digital Infrastructure. To thank are Germany?s high-performance, customer-oriented, and efficient logistics providers as well as its interconnected, Europe-wide infrastructure network.
