(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 11/12/15 -- During International Education Week (IEW), November 16-20, will provide free events and programming that will guide current and prospective international students on their journey to study in the U.S.



International admissions experts from U.S. schools will speak about admissions, scholarships, language-proficiency exams, and other topics.

Nov. 16: English - Mark Schroeder, Director of International Admission, University of Toledo

Nov. 17: Arabic - Mustapha Jourdini, Director of International Recruitment, Lesley University

Nov. 18: Spanish - Luiz Pereira, Director of International Admissions, Daemen College

Nov. 19: Mandarin - Peace Li, Associate Director of International Recruitment, Georgia State University



WES Student Advisor will host a networking event at downtown Manhattan office on Thursday, Nov. 19, to provide international students the opportunity to speak with a panel of experts about internships and job hunting. The event will be broadcast live via webcam, enabling prospective international students to join digitally.

Panelists include:

Surabhi Lal, Director of Career Services, New York University Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service

Erin Stine, Director of Undergraduate Admission, Parsons School of Design

Meghavaty Suresh, Brand Engagement Specialist, The Guardian (Syracuse University, '15)



WES Student Advisor will hold its third annual essay contest. The topic, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, asks "Why do you think pursuing an education overseas impacts a person beyond just academics?" International students can also participate in a digital scavenger hunt. Students can search for images that represent international education and post to social media. Winners will receive Amazon gift cards and will be featured on WES Student Advisor's social media channels.
