Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre Gives Back to the Community
(firmenpresse) - HYDERABAD, INDIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/08/11 -- The Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre, one of the premier , has partnered with a city-based NGO to adopt the Primary Government School in Bowenpally. The idea is to transform this school with over 150 children from standard 1st - 7th into a model school in the country.
This project was officially launched on March 15, 2011 at the government school premises in Bowenpally. The occasion was graced by the Principal Secretary of Primary Education and the Minister of State Government Education Body, Sarva Siksha Abhyan.
In order to make this a model school, Hyderabad Marriott hotel and Passionate Foundation have been working closely with the government to provide the school with basic necessities, modern amenities and fundamental English language classes. This generosity has been demonstrated by providing eggs, bananas and vegetable curry to the children every day.
Funds for the daily meal plan have been donated by the 5 star hotel's associates through monetary help and privileged leaves; pledged in for the cause. A special team of Corporate Social Responsibility was formed with associates of the hotel and has dedicated 3 hours per week to help maintain the government school. This was done by proactively cleaning the school premises, planting trees and painting classroom walls with cartoon motifs.
In an initiation of providing this model school the infrastructure and facilities of the standard of a public school, the luxury hotel's staff hosted a special fundraising event on July 30, 2011 in Hyderabad. The proceeds from this event will be used to focus on pupil-teacher ratio, develop information, communication and technology (ICT) usage, create holistic educational environment, organize recreation facilities, maintain hygiene, introduce appropriate curriculum at the school.
