Stonesoft Receives FSTEK Certification in Russia

StoneGate Firewall/VPN and IPS network security solutions recognized for quality
and efficiency
Helsinki, Finland - 30 September 2010, Stonesoft, an innovative provider of
integrated network security and business continuity solutions, has today
announced its StoneGate Firewall/VPN and IPS network security solutions have
received FSTEK certifications in Russia. FSTEK is one of the main government
authorities regulating information security in the Russian Federation and
Stonesoft is the first foreign network security provider to receive the highest
certification for manufacturing from the organization so far. As a result,
Stonesoft's StoneGate solutions are now approved to secure highly critical
information systems in state and commercial organizations as well as government
authorities.
As part of the mandatory certification for information security products, two
FSTEK certificates. have been granted to the production of StoneGate products,
manufactured by Stonesoft and localized by its Russian technology partner, New
security technologies Company.
This is the first time that information security solutions produced by a foreign
provider, and localized by its Russian partner, have acquired certification for
such high class systems protection. No other foreign-made firewall has managed
to obtain the second class of protection for firewalls thus far, which proves
the high level of reliability and efficiency of the technology used in the
StoneGate Firewall.
For the first time during the firewall certification process from foreign
providers, analysis of the authentic product codes was conducted to ensure the
absence of undeclared opportunities. This will allow Russian customers to comply
with the strict requirements of regulatory documentation, for example the
security of first class personal data information systems. In addition, for the
first time the production itself was certified, instead of only product samples
or some parties, which avoids challenges with new version transitioning of
Stonesoft products for Russian customers.
Finally, it is the first time that a security product for virtual environments
has been certified. Now Russian customers can benefit from the most advanced
virtualization technologies and meet the strict requirements of Russian
regulators.

eliminates the problem of transitioning to new versions for our Russian
