The Alberta floods of June 2013, the most costly in Canadian history, drove home the need for Canadians to better adapt to severe weather and prepare for the increasing potential for floods. Climate change adaptation will feature prominently at Cop21 in Paris - the insurance industry is responding to address rising global risk with a wide array of solutions.
Canada is the only G7 country without a national flood insurance program. However, we're working on it.
