Confidence Among Affluent Investors Rises in November, According to Spectrem; Concerns Over the Threat of Terrorism Weigh on Sentiment
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 12/01/15 -- Affluent investors indicate they are feeling more positive about their personal financial situation, according to the Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) which gained 3 pts in November to 7. During the same period, the Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) gained 9 points to 15. Both indices stand at three-month highs.
The indices, compiled by Spectrem Group, a market research and consulting firm specializing in the affluent and retirement markets, measure the investment confidence and outlook of the 16MM households in America with more than $500,000 of investable assets (SAICI), and those with $1MM or more (SMICI). This month's survey was fielded between Nov. 16 and Nov. 22.
Despite gains in the November Investor Confidence indices, Affluent investors said they remain wary of market conditions and concerned over recent terror attacks and continued threats.
"Despite rising optimism about their personal financial situation tied to favorable economic reports in November, affluent investors remain cautious and uncertain about the market," said George H. Walper, Jr., president of Spectrem Group. "Among their concerns include lingering doubts about the direction of the global economy, the ongoing threat of terrorism following the horrific attacks in Paris and the strong likelihood of a December rate hike by the Federal Reserve."
