(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 12/18/15 -- Jacob Securities Inc. ("JSI") announced today that as of January 4, 2016 it will transition to become Jacob Capital Management Inc. ("JCM") to continue its investment banking and advisory services leadership in identifying emerging market opportunities in highly regulated sectors.
Jacob Capital Management will be a non-IIROC regulated business, and as such intends to focus solely on its core strengths in investment banking advisory services while divesting of its interests in retail and trading platforms.
Jacob is a recognized global leader in investment banking advisory services for renewable energy. Mr. Jacob started one of the first and largest funds in Canada focused solely on renewables in 2007. Since 2007, JSI has managed over $6B in wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric and cleantech project financing, including major projects in Canada and around the world. Projects have included financing the first independent wind power project in Ontario, founding the largest hydroelectric company in Sri Lanka, and advising two of the largest offshore wind developers in Europe.
