Bluebox Security Partners With F5 Networks to Combine Zero-Touch App Security With App Level VPN Access
Collaboration Delivers End-to-End Mobile App Security Without Developer or IT Involvement

This collaboration promotes integration between the ® (APM®) and the Bluebox security and analytics framework. With a combined solution, custom-developed enterprise apps are transformed into self-defending apps with granular network access in a single click to safeguard corporate data stored on the mobile device and the enterprise network for the unmanaged devices of BYOD employees, partners and contractors. Now, enterprises can secure, detect and respond to threats against app data while providing mobile access to internal resources without requiring a full device virtual private network (VPN), coding from an app developer, or management of the mobile device.
For data loss prevention, enterprises are turning to per-app VPNs to secure traffic from custom enterprise mobile apps without capturing traffic from end users' personal apps. Until now, implementing such a solution required extensive investment during the app development process, slowing time to market. Alternative deployment of an enterprise mobile management (EMM) solution is often precluded for mobile devices owned by partners or contractors. Now, the Bluebox and F5 integration solves both of these challenges.

With the F5 BIG-IP APM integration, Bluebox-secured apps also protect data in transit between the app and enterprise resources by enabling customers to configure a direct SSL VPN connection from the Bluebox-secured app to F5 BIG-IP APM. This app-level VPN functionality is built into the Bluebox security and analytics framework, eliminating the need to install F5 BIG-IP Edge Client® apps or an EMM profile on devices owned by the employees or the extended enterprise. This also enables customers to benefit from a highly scalable combined solution, including BIG-IP APM, that can address multiple use cases, including support for desktop remote access, VDI access, and seamless identity federation, regardless of application location.
