The 67th Reese's Senior Bowl Partners With Special Spectators to Host 3 Children From University of South Alabama Children's & Women's Hospital for VIP Game Weekend Experience

Two Days of VIP Access Behind the Scenes With the Country's Top NFL Prospects Brings the Joy of Game Day to Local Families


(firmenpresse) - MOBILE, AL -- (Marketwired) -- 01/30/16 -- The 67th Reese's Senior Bowl announced today that it again will co-host three seriously ill children and their families from University of South Alabama Children's & Women's Hospital, in partnership with , a 501 (c) 3 non-profit that creates magical game day experiences for seriously ill children and their families, this coming weekend. For the third year running, Special Spectators will bring the children and their families to enjoy an extraordinary weekend full of special access moments and two full days of fun with the players and coaches, leading up to the game on Saturday. It is the highlight of the Special Spectators post-season calendar and marks a day of great joy in young lives that are otherwise often challenging.

"We and our fans understand the power of Game Day. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to host Special Spectators as they expand their experiences beyond the college level," said Phil Savage, Executive Director of the Senior Bowl. "It's been a natural fit for us, and we are happy to be a part of the growing roster of properties involved. Why wouldn't you want to be a part of this kind of joy?"

Special Spectators is known for hosting VIP game day experiences at collegiate athletic events nationwide, and has just concluded their 14th college football season, with over 30 games this past season ultimately concluding on November 28th. Special Spectators partners with some of the top programs in the country including the four teams who competed in the year's College Football Playoff -- Alabama, Clemson, Michigan State and Oklahoma.

"We are thrilled to be back to join the players and coaches at the Senior Bowl, including having some pre-game on Friday that will really allow our kids to feel like part of the two teams," says Special Spectators Founder Blake Rockwell. "Parents often call a Special Spectators Game Day the best day in their child's life. So, having two days of fun -- plus the Mardi Gras this year -- is going to be unforgettable. We are a completely volunteer-run organization focused on nothing more than creating joy for these children and a weekend of total relief for their families. We rely on the enthusiasm of our partners like the gracious folks at the Senior Bowl to help make the magic happen."





Special Spectators partners with athletic departments, coaching staff, athletes, local hospitals, student volunteers, network broadcasters, and corporate sponsors to serve these children and families nationwide. The organization is entirely volunteer-based, with no paid staff and relies heavily on donations and in-kind support to fuel its calendar of events each year.
