Central government payments gave a surplus in July
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Swedish central government payments gave a surplus of SEK 6.2 billionin July. The Debt Office's forecast was a deficit of SEK 1.8 billion.The outcome was thus SEK 8.0 billion stronger than expected.Tax payments were SEK 4 billion higher than calculated. At the sametime, the Debt Office's net lending was SEK 2 billion lower thanexpected. This is because the July forecast included a payment of aloan to Iceland that will instead be made later this year. Otherdeviations from the forecast primarily depend on lower disbursementsfrom authorities.Interest payments on central government debt were SEK 0.2 billion.That is SEK 0.4 billion lower than calculated.For the twelve-month period up to the end of July, central governmentpayments resulted in a deficit of SEK 75 billion.
