'Alter Energy Group AG acquires Sustainable Biomass Supply Company.'
Zurich Switzerland - August 11, 2011
ALTER ENERGY GROUP AG (AEG) (Frankfurt Stock Exchange Ticker Symbol: 39f;
WKN: A0MW07) announces the signing of the Stock Purchase Agreement for the
100% acquisition of Ukraine sustainable biomass supply company ZET Biomass
Group (ZBG).
The acquisition terms are under non-disclosure agreement, but they involve
a combination of stock options, corporate set-up costs and working capital
investments over time.
Edward J. Klaeger IV, CEO of AEG states, 'The signing of the ZBG
acquisition provides AEG the necessary platform for sustainable biomass
supply for our current power production target in the Zhytomir region
Ukraine. The initial focus of ZBG will continue to be processing the waste
wood requirements for the first AEG integrated biomass power plant (BPP) in
the region. However, the company has the option to include agricultural and
farming residues or energy crops to diversify into biomass production,
manufacture (pellets, wood chips, etc.) and distribute on both the internal
and external markets, depending on product pricing and other economic
considerations. As the need for power production from alternative sources
in both Ukraine and the EU grows, the capabilities of ZBG will also expand
to meet the increasing demand for sustainable biomass supply.'
