Investment management firm is broadening its Canadian presence by opening an office at 145 King Street West, in the heart of Toronto's financial district.
"We are very fortunate to have a number of long standing clients in Toronto and felt it was time to have a local presence here," said CEO Jim Gilliland.
Clients representing 40 per cent of Leith Wheeler's total $16.4-billion of assets under management are based in Ontario. They include institutions, , , communities and private clients.
Marcel Leroux, an investment-business veteran, will lead the office. He is responsible for the discretionary investment management of private client and foundation portfolios at Leith Wheeler. "Leith Wheeler has an excellent reputation and I am honored to contribute to this new phase for the firm," he said.

Before joining the firm, Marcel spent two decades with a successful investment management firm in Toronto as Vice-President, Marketing and Client Servicing. He graduated from Laval University with a Business Administration degree and is fluent in English and French.
This is Leith Wheeler's second office outside its Vancouver headquarters. In 2011, Leith Wheeler opened one in Calgary, its first move outside of Vancouver since its 1982 founding in that city.
