Kongsberg Automotive awarded its second biggest nomination ever
valued at 65 MEUR
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Kongsberg Automotive has won one of its biggest and most importantnominations ever with one of the world's largest manufactures ofcommercial vehicles in the heavy duty truck segment. The value of thenomination is estimated to be at a level of up to 550 MNOK / 65 MEUR,and the nomination is for 6 years. The production may continue evenafter that period. This is the second biggest nomination in KA`shistory.The new business includes delivery of vital chassis and axlesuspension products. Thanks to the new design the vehicle will offersignificant improved driving comfort. In addition, the new productshave a reduced weight of 20 kg which is 1/3 of the current weight andimproved impact strengths to allow increased payload and require lessspace which is vital for the next generation of truck technology.The main part of the production will take place at Rollag andHvittingfoss, Norway, both plants representing world class processand product technology for this type of products. The products willgo through final validation at the customer and start of productionis set to Q3 2011.The award is won due to KA`s deep technology knowledge and competencein this area and strengthens KA`s position as a leading globalsupplier of chassis and suspension products for heavy duty trucks.
