The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sales of ELMOS Semiconductor AG (FSE: ELG) dropped in the 2nd quarter2009 compared to the prior-year period, down 45.9% to 25.2 millionEuro (Q2/2008: 46.6 million Euro). This means an 11.6% growth overthe 1st quarter 2009. The gross profit amounted to 2.8 million Euroin the 2nd quarter 2009 (Q2/2008: 20.4 million Euro). Both operatingincome (-9.6 million Euro) and earnings before interest and taxes(EBIT: -9.9 million Euro) were negative in the 2nd quarter 2009, yetdeclines in absolute figures were lower than the gross profit'sdecline because of the cost savings initiated in fall 2008. Due tothe extensive measures, considerably more than 10 million Euro willbe saved in 2009. The net result came to -7.5 million Euro in the 2ndquarter 2009 (Q2/2008: net income of 3.6 million Euro).Cash and cash equivalents in the first half-year 2009 were onlymarginally reduced in comparison with the end of the year (June 30,2009: 38.4 million Euro vs. December 31, 2008: 42.5 million Euro) dueto the successful management of accounts receivables, accountspayables, inventories, and capital expenditures. The equity ratio of69.9% maintains its high level as well (December 31, 2008: 68.5%).With regard to the half-year, sales amounted to 47.8 million Euro(HY1/2008: 90.8 million Euro), the EBIT came to -18.8 million Euro(HY1/2008: 9.0 million Euro), and the net loss was 13.7 million Euro(HY1/2008: net income of 6.4 million Euro).ELMOS sees itself on the road to recovery again with the completionof the first half-year.
