Widespread legalized access to marijuana means parents need to talk to kids about weed. A free report titled: “Marijuana Discussion Guide for Modern Parents: Why We Need to Talk Weed" was released today to guide parents and prevent adolescent marijuana use.

In response to increased acceptance and accessibility, it's imperative that moms and dads discuss marijuana with their children. But what to say has changed; in response Jessie M. Gill, RN has released a free report titled: €œMarijuana Discussion Guide for Modern Parents: Need to Talk Weed". The report guides parents through awkward conversations, stigmas, and myths to effectively communicate the risks and dangers of adolescent marijuana use."
The report has been made openly available and at no cost by FlusteredMom.com. It's available to the general public. The report was also written with a specific focus on the prevalence of medical marijuana since Jessie M. Gill, RN, author of the report, believes €œMedical marijuana legalization is expected to continue."
When asked about why she released the report at this time, Jessie M. Gill, RN, Founder of FlusteredMom said: €œIn the past 50 years, social acceptance of marijuana has increased dramatically. A 1969 Gallup survey found only 12% of respondents thought marijuana should be legalized, by 2015 that number increased to 58%. With nearly half the country accessing medical marijuana, it's more important than ever to talk to kids about weed.
"Medical marijuana legalization is rapidly gaining momentum and for good reason €“ the benefits of medical marijuana are amazing. But increased access means adolescents are at an increased risk. Increased social acceptance means we need to how we address risks of marijuana with children today."
