Daptiv Enhances Project Portfolio Management Offering With Identity Management and Security for Enterprise Users
Pre-Configured Connectors Integrate Daptiv PPM With Active Directory or LDAP; SAML Single Sign-On Features Make It Easier, Faster to Securely Access Project Data
(firmenpresse) - SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/16/11 -- Daptiv, the leading provider of on-demand PPM solutions, today announced new features that will make it easier and faster to securely access project and portfolio data within Daptiv PPM. The new capabilities allow users to more efficiently manage enterprise users and enable single sign-on access to Daptiv.
For organizations that have standardized on Microsoft's Active Directory (AD) or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) as their identity management system, Daptiv now offers a pre-configured integration process within Daptiv Connect™ that allows user profile information to synchronize with Daptiv PPM. Employees are automatically added to the Daptiv PPM system when they are added to AD or LDAP and contact data from AD or LDAP can be synchronized into Daptiv at configurable time intervals. Daptiv PPM user accounts can also be archived when employees are removed from AD or LDAP. This allows enterprises to strengthen security and avoid errors that occur when entering information into two separate systems and enhance efficiency since users do not need to remember multiple email addresses or user IDs.
In addition, Single Sign-On (SSO) support is now available for Daptiv PPM using Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) v. 2.0. With this new SSO support, users no longer need to provide additional ID and password credentials to log in to the PPM application. Instead, a cryptographically signed XML token confirms the user as having already been authenticated by a trusted source, their enterprise's own network. This single sign-on process makes it easier and faster to access the Daptiv PPM application.
