Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Expands its Global Imprint with 10 New Egyptian
Medical Journals Scheduled in 2011; 40 Additional Titles Planned
New York, NY (October 28, 2010) - Wolters Kluwer Health is pleased to announce a
publishing partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and State
Ministry for Scientific Research (ENSTINET). The two organizations have agreed
to collaborate on the development and publication of leading medical and
scientific journals and to help create a "Center of Excellence" in the region,
bringing together the expertise of both parties. Lippincott Williams &
Wilkins(LWW), a part of Wolters Kluwer Health and a world-renowned publisher for
medical societies, will partner with ENSTINET to provide publishing services and
support.
The agreement, which will commence immediately, provides ENSTINET and its
partner journals with significant training and development input from the LWW
journal publishing team and will result in 10 leading Egyptian medical journals
being published under the LWW imprint from 2011 onwards. Additionally, over the
next 5 years, another 40 journals will be published "in association with LWW,"
enabling LWW to develop local research in the Middle East, and bring that
content to a more global audience. This collaboration between LWW and ENSTINET
to develop leading medical journal content will serve as the foundation for a
'Center of Excellence' in Egypt that supports the ongoing research needs of the
Middle East region.
"We are delighted to partner with ENSTINET in helping to establish a 'Center of
Excellence' for the Middle Eastern medical and scientific community," said Karen
Abramson, President & CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research. "This
publishing partnership will expand the reach of leading Egyptian journal content
to local and global users, and provide access to both new information and the
collaborative environment in which to make important decisions in the
advancement of medicine and science."
"Our partnership with Wolters Kluwer Health and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins
represents a tremendous opportunity for the Egyptian Ministry of Scientific
Research to develop its knowledge and build a Center of Excellence from our
shared expertise," said Dr. Maged El Sherbiny, Deputy Minister of Scientific
Research. "LWW is well recognized for its contributions to medical publishing
and we're very pleased to collaborate with its publishing teams to deliver new
journal content from the Egyptian research community."
