Infortrend Expands Storage Systems Market for Telco, Defense, Oil and Gas Industries With New DC Power Systems
(firmenpresse) - SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/16/11 -- (TPE: 2495), the networked storage expert, today announced the availability of new DC power systems in its family of storage solutions. Many IT infrastructures in telecommunications and military environments, as well as the oil and gas industries, require systems with DC rather than AC power to run applications. With dual redundant DC power supplies, the new EonStor DS storage systems are designed to deliver high reliability and performance in these infrastructures.

By adding new systems with DC power supplies to the EonStor DS product family, we are expanding the options available to these organizations with reliable storage solutions that offer excellent cost efficiency."
As with all EonStor DS solutions, the new DC power systems support advanced data services including local and remote replication as well as thin provisioning. Local replication, including snapshot and volume copy/mirror, is standardly available for EonStor DS users. Remote replication allows users to create off-site copies of data. Thin provisioning technology automatically allocates system capacity to applications as needed, optimizing storage utilization while significantly reducing power consumption.
