500px Launches Photo Quests, a New Way for Brands to Engage With 500px's 7 Million+ Users and Source Original Content

500px's innovative Photo Quest platform allows users to submit via desktop or mobile, giving brands a chance to interface with 500px users on multiple platforms, as well as increase their exposure through 500px's extensive social media presence.

Global companies including Lonely Planet, Canon, and Meyer-Optik-Görlitz have run Photo Quests on 500px.

Meyer-Optik-Görlitz, a century-old company specializing in high-quality camera lenses, partnered with 500px to create a Photo Quest to reintroduce the legendary 1916 f2.8/100 Trioplan lens with new state-of-the-art technology on its 100th birthday. With the Trioplan famous for its unique "soap-bubble" focus, Meyer-Optik-Görlitz engaged with the 500px audience by asking them to create new images with the theme "Bokeh," resulting in over 36K submissions.

Lonely Planet used a 500px Photo Quest to source thousands of unique images for their recently published "Toilets: A Spotter's Guide" book, which features 120 pages of toilets from the world's most unusual and stunning restrooms from every corner of the globe. 840 photographers on the 500px platform participated in the Photo Quest, submitting 6,000 unique images for the book, with 50 specific images included in the book.

"We were looking for compelling, unique photos from remote places around the world, and asked ourselves whether there would be enough quality photos out there for our book. Using 500px's Photo Quests, we were able to source more photos for the book than we expected," said Robin Barton, associate publisher, Lonely Planet.





In April, 500px launched Verified Brand Profiles for brands to share their wholly-owned photography with the 500px community.
