China Minerals: BC Government's Information Note Fails to Mention Mineral Rights - Amended Petition to Be Filed

ID: 473551

(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/25/16 -- China Minerals Mining Corporation ("China Minerals") (TSX VENTURE: CMV)(OTC PINK: HWTHF) announces that it has instructed its legal counsel to file materials in the Supreme Court of British Columbia to amend the petition for judicial review against the Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations. For convenience, a reference in this news release to the "Company" refers to both China Minerals and China Minerals' wholly-owned subsidiary (Cassiar Gold Corp.).

The Company will allege that the Minister Steve Thomson failed to consider a relevant factor - the Company's opposition - when making a decision to dispose of Crown land to a corporation owned by the Kaska Dena. The Company's opposition was made known to government officials between the time the government signed an incremental treaty agreement with the Kaska Dena and the time the Ministerial decision was made to transfer the lands.

The amendment to the petition relates to a Ministerial Order Information Note recently filed by the government in the court proceedings which makes absolutely no reference to the Company or its stated opposition to this proposed land transfer. This expected amendment is in addition to other allegations related to principles of administrative fairness set out in the original petition.

"It appears as though staff withheld this crucial piece of information from the Minister" said the Company's Executive Chairman Ling Zhu. Mr. Zhu added: "The more that gets revealed in this case the fishier it gets. It is deeply disturbing to our company and our shareholders and investors to see how third-party rights get disregarded in British Columbia when it comes to First Nations agreements."

For further information on the legal action see China Minerals' news release dated January 25, 2016, a copy of which is available under China Minerals' SEDAR profile at . A copy of the judicial review petition and supporting affidavit are filed on China Minerals' website available at: . A copy of the Ministerial Order Information Note will also be filed on China Minerals' website.

The Company supports reconciliation between the province and aboriginal groups - provided existing third party rights are protected or properly compensated.
