Brookfield High Yield Strategic Income Fund Announces Average Net Asset Value and Status of Annual Redemption Condition
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/03/16 -- Brookfield Investment Management (Canada) Inc. (the "Manager") announces that the simple average of the net asset values of the units of the Brookfield High Yield Strategic Income Fund (the "Fund") on each of the Thursdays occurring in the month of May was $7.43. As a result, the annual redemption condition applicable to the units of the Fund has been triggered. Units may only be redeemed on an Annual Redemption Date (the last business day of July), if the simple average of the net asset values of the units of the Fund on each of the Thursdays occurring in the month of May preceding the Annual Redemption Date is less than $10.00. Units of the Fund must be surrendered for redemption by Thursday, July 7th, 2016. Payment of the proceeds will be made on or before the 15th business day of August.
The Fund obtains economic exposure to a portfolio (the "Portfolio") of North American high yield debt through a forward agreement (the "Forward Agreement"). The Fund's investment objectives are to provide unitholders with tax-advantaged quarterly cash distributions, to maximize total return to unitholders through distributions and capital appreciation and to preserve capital. The Portfolio is actively managed by Brookfield Investment Management Inc.
