Dispensaries Meet With Health Canada Officials on Marihuana Medical Access Program
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 08/17/11 -- Representatives of Canada's Medical Cannabis Dispensaries, also known as "compassion clubs", met with Health Canada officials today in Montreal as part of the Government's consultation process to discuss much needed amendments to the federal Marihuana Medical Access Program (MMAP).
The Canadian Association of Medical Cannabis Dispensaries believes the proposed amendments to the MMAP are in line with its community-based dispensary model. Gaps in the amendments can be filled by including dispensaries in the regulatory framework. Dispensaries provide safe, secure and reliable access to medical cannabis. "We are pleased to provide our expertise and look forward to a meaningful participation in this consultation process", said Adam Greenblatt, a Montreal-based CAMCD director.
