NORMA Group AG opens new production facility in Serbia
Maintal, 18 August 2011 - NORMA Group AG ('NORMA Group'), a global market
and technology leader for engineered joining technologies, has opened a new
production plant in Serbia to further expand its global network, strengthen
its presence in Eastern Europe and access the growing Turkish market. The
facility is located in Subotica in the North of Serbia, approximately ten
kilometres away from the Hungarian frontier.
The new facility in Serbia has been built to satisfy the increasing demand
for our fluid system products in all European markets. The manufacturing
site was finished on time and following successful audits from a number of
our major customers, production was started in July 2011. NORMA Group
currently employs 40 people in Subotica. This number will rise to 350 over
the next two years as the factory becomes progressively filled.
Nenad Medenica, General Manger for NORMA Serbia says: 'We are very excited
that the facility has now started production. A strong management team has
been built up in Serbia well supported by experts from other NORMA Group
facilities. We have also been very pleased with the support we have
received from the Serbian agencies to realize this project in a short
