Gyllstrom Brings Strategic Technical Expertise to EnerNOC's Engineering Team

(firmenpresse) - BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/18/11 -- (NASDAQ: ENOC), a leading provider of energy management applications for the smart grid, today announced that it has hired Dr. Per Gyllstrom as the company's Chief Product Architect. In this role, Dr. Gyllstrom will support the continued development of EnerNOC's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, particularly as the Company continues to add new product features and enter additional markets for energy management. Prior to joining EnerNOC, Dr. Gyllstrom was the Chief Architect at Bridge Energy Group, where he contributed to the architecture and design of smart grid integration solutions. Dr. Gyllstrom brings over 30 years of successful software industry experience to the Company and will report to EnerNOC's Vice President of Engineering, Hugh Scandrett.

"EnerNOC offers some of the most sophisticated energy management applications available, and in order to maintain that position, we are constantly enhancing our software to take advantage of new technologies and offer our customers additional functionality. Per is a great addition to our team because his expertise in SaaS, cloud computing, and smart grid solutions is perfectly aligned with that mission," said Tim Healy, Chairman and CEO of EnerNOC. "EnerNOC is a growing company: Our geographic footprint continues to expand, and our customers are placing more emphasis on our automated demand response resources and energy efficiency offerings. Per's expertise gives us the skill set we need to grow our platform in line with these larger objectives."

Prior to his position at Bridge Energy Group, Dr. Gyllstrom worked for PNC Global Investment Servicing (GIS) for eight years in various roles, most recently as the Solution Director and Chief Architect. In that role, he was responsible for the solution architecture and design of applications, components, and shared services in support of all GIS lines of business. Among his many contributions to GIS, Dr. Gyllstrom established a companywide governance program, establishing and chairing both the Solution Design Team and Architecture Review Board to proactively review and recommend the architecture approaches for key company projects. Dr. Gyllstrom also managed an application and component portfolio consisting of over 30 applications, including a company-wide security framework, shareholder retail applications, and back-office applications for both domestic and international markets.

"As a leading player in the clean energy sector, EnerNOC has already determined that cost-effective energy management requires powerful software and clear product architecture," said Gyllstrom. "From this strong foundation, I look forward to continuing to develop the team and technology that will build upon EnerNOC's energy management suite and ultimately unlock savings for our customers."

Dr. Gyllstrom has also held positions with Xerox, Digital Equipment, and Bell Laboratories. He holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Numerical Analysis from Uppsala University in Sweden.
