Eddie Bauer Guide Melissa Arnot and Maddie Miller Set Out to Summit the Top 50 Peaks in 50 States in 50 Days

(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 06/20/16 -- There are 50 states in the US, and every one of them has a high point. While they range from 350 feet to over 20,000, climbing all 50 peaks in only 50 days is a huge accomplishment that no woman has ever successfully completed. Now, two women are attempting to become the first with their 50 Peaks Challenge, beginning this June.

Eddie Bauer Guide Melissa Arnot and Guide in Training, Maddie Miller will set out to be the first female climbers to complete what they're calling The 50 Peaks Challenge. Melissa is fresh off her latest expedition on Mt. Everest, the world's tallest peak, where she summited without using supplemental oxygen; setting a new American women's record. It was Melissa's sixth summit of Everest, breaking the world record for the most summits completed by an American woman in history, a record she has held since 2013.

The climbing duo hopes to empower climbers everywhere to live their adventure and showcase an electrifying and fast-paced road trip through the stunning and sometimes daunting landscape of the United States. In order to complete the challenge and accommodate travel time, they will have to summit as many as six peaks in one day. While some are small enough to summit in a few hours, others, such as Denali, can take up to two weeks to climb.
