GHM MESSTECHNIK OPENS SOUTH AFRICAN SUBSIDIARY
German-based GHM Messtechnik GmbH has opened GHM Messtechnik South Africa, a dedicated South African subsidiary in Alberton, Gauteng. Jan Grobler, who is an experienced measurement and control technology specialist and who was previously with OMSA as Product Manager Instrumentation, has been appointed as Managing Director.
(firmenpresse) - GHM Messtechnik GmbH was launched in 2009 and is an amalgamation of globally renowned companies comprising: Greisinger electronics, Honsberg Instruments, Martens Elektronik, Imtron, T & A Telemetry & Automation and Delta Ohm.
Honsberg Instrumentation is well known to the South African market, having had a presence for over 40 years through their previous distributor OMSA.
“The decision to open a dedicated South African office in January 2016 was in order to offer a more personalised service and broader product offering to the South African market, which has seen substantial growth over the last five to ten years. It is an exciting new venture and a logical progression to the GHM operations in this country” says Managing Director, Jan Grobler. “I believe that our technical capability and skills, coupled with the experience in the Instrumentation market, gives us the competitive edge to continue to increase our footprint in South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa. The wide range of technologies and products offered by GHM Messtechnik are known for their high quality, performance, accuracy and reliability. Due to its tough and harsh environmental conditions, the South African market has in the past been used for product development by GHM Messtechnik, and this has enabled the company to develop extremely robust products. According to Grobler this research and development will continue to exist through its new South African subsidiary.
GHM Messtechnik South Africa will be offering sensors and instrumentation, hygienic design instrumentation, laboratory instrumentation, industrial electronics, process measurement technology, data acquisition equipment and environmental / water analysis instrumentation.
These well-established technologies and products have applications across the board and include general industry, mining, food & beverage, brewery industries, power generation, renewable energy, pharmaceutical, laboratories, oil flow measurement and hydraulic related sectors.
The company currently has specific OEM agreements in place with hydraulic and oil lubrication system manufacturers, as well as previous sales partners for handheld equipment within South Africa.
