Kesko's sales increased in June
Kesko Group's sales in June 2016 totalled ?1,006.4 million and were up 31.4%. In
comparable terms, sales increased by 5.7% in local currencies, excluding the
impact of Suomen Lähikauppa and Onninen.
"In June, Kesko's sales increased in comparable terms in all divisions. The
acquisition of Onninen was finalised at the beginning of June and caused a
significant increase in the sales of the building and technical trade," says
Kesko's President and CEO Mikko Helander.
The sales of Kesko's grocery trade in June were ?481.9 million and increased by
21.7%. Suomen Lähikauppa excluded, the sales of the grocery trade were ?414.5
million, representing a comparable change of +4.7%.
The sales of the building and technical trade in June were ?450.4 million, up
48.6%. Excluding Onninen, the sales of the building and technical trade were
?310.4 million, up 5.7% in local currencies. In Finland, excluding Onninen,
sales grew by 1.1%. Outside Finland, excluding Onninen, sales increased by
10.0% in local currencies. The sales of the building and home improvement trade
increased by 4.8% in local currencies. The sales of the leisure trade were at
the same level as in the previous year in local currencies and the sales of the
agricultural and machinery trade increased by 14.4%.
The sales of the car trade in June were ?74.8 million, up 13.9% from the
previous year.

In June 2016, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was
21, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of selling days
in January-June was two more than in the previous year.
