RoodMicrotec: Sales Growth Continues

In the third quarter of 2010, RoodMicrotec's sales growth was fully in line with
the sales growth in the worldwide semiconductor market.
According to the SIA (Semiconductor Industry Association), it grew by 6.1%
compared to the second quarter 2010 and by 26.2% compared to the third quarter
of 2009 (see diagram).
The business units Failure & Technology Analysis, Test & End-of- line Services
and Test Engineering in particular showed sales growth in the third quarter. As
stated previously, Supply Chain Management dropped somewhat, while Qualification
& Reliability Investigation remained stable.
Due to important contracts from both existing and new customers in the third
quarter, including sizeable annual contracts, the order portfolio increased yet
again. We are pleased to see some of the world's leading players among our new
customers.
The broad applications of the new contracts, from aeronautical and space to
radio frequency and smart chips for security environments, show that
RoodMicrotec is considered a recognised player.
To support our sales growth, we have made further investments in Failure &
Technology Analysis and Test & End-of- line Services.
Key areas
In the next few months we intend to improve our logistics system, increase the
equipment load in Test & Related Services and further optimise sectors including
Qualification & Reliability Investigation.
Personnel
There is still overcapacity in some sectors, due to which part of the employees
is on short-time working. We are endeavouring to reduce overcapacity by
reorganisation and reassigning staff.
Outlook for 2010
In view of the increase of the number of orders and the sales developments we
anticipate, barring unforeseen circumstances, a healthy sales growth in the
second half of 2010, in line with the developments in the worldwide
semiconductor industry.
We maintain our previously stated objective of annual autonomous growth of
between 5% and 15%, of improving the operating result and the net result, and of
further reducing our debt position.
