Huf: Regularly check your tire pressure monitoring systems

(PresseBox) - Traffic lights have their uses. They've been around almost as long as cars. And they've certainly proven their worth. While most car drivers stick to the traffic light rules, some road users persistently ignore the signals and drive in the into oncoming traffic, risking accidents. A similar thing can happen when car drivers ignore important warning lights in their car e.g. the lights for the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Tire pressure sensors are mounted on the wheel rim and constantly measure the tire pressure. They let the driver know if the pressure drops. The right tire pressure is important. If you drive around with too little air in your tires and ignore the warning lights, you're at greater risk of an accident. Pressure that is too low not only increases fuel consumption and wear and tear on the tires, but also increases braking distance and causes a deterioration in the handling characteristics because the car can no longer be controlled in an optimal manner. Traction on bends is reduced and the risk of aquaplaning increased. The ABS and ESP also do not work properly if the air pressure is too low. In the worst cases, the wrong tire pressure can even lead to a burst tire.
'A drop in pressure in the tires and a burst tire can lead to serious accidents even at low speeds', explains Benjamin Müller, Product Manager at Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst. 'If you ignore the warning signal in the cockpit, you're acting just like someone who drives through a light on red'.
Changing the tire pressure sensors is very easy. Many tire dealers and workshops offer a comprehensive service for TPMS. Therefore: as soon as the warning lamp lights up, get the TPMS checked over in a workshop and change any sensors that may be defective. Universal sensors such as the Huf IntelliSens can be used on all current vehicles. Installation is quick and easy and you can be on your way again very quickly.

Huf develops and produces tire pressure monitoring systems (TMPS) for renowned automobile manufacturers all over the world: Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, Bentley, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes Truck, Mini, Novabus, Porsche, Prevost, SsangYong, Volkswagen, and Volvo Truck, just to name a few.
