* Sales up 10.8% to ?6.7 billion (up 4.6% at constant exchange rates)

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, November 18, 2010 - Ahold today published its
interim report for the third quarter of 2010. CEO John Rishton said: "In an
environment that remains challenging, we delivered another quarter of solid
results. Sales were up 10.8%, we delivered positive identical sales growth in
the United States and in Europe, operating income increased by 7.5% and we grew
volumes and market share in the United States and the Netherlands. We will
continue to invest to deliver value to our customers while balancing sales and
margins."
