Mikael Silvennoinen, Pohjola's President and CEO on sick leave
Mikael Silvennoinen, President and CEO of Pohjola Bank plc, has been diagnosed
with a malignant tumour at the base of the tongue. He will be on sick leave for
6-8 weeks from the beginning of January to receive treatment. During this
period, Mr Silvennoinen's duties will be taken over by Pohjola CFO Jouko
Pölönen, who as of 1 January 2011 will also begin work as President of Pohjola
Insurance Ltd, a Pohjola Bank plc subsidiary.
